Workshop description: A 1-day introduction to the Wet Plate Collodion process aka "Tintype" photography. Students will experience, hands-on, the artisanal process of making images as was done during the 19th century. Principals of the basic chemistry involved will be covered as well as equipment, lighting and technique. Each student will be able to create their own tintype photographs and take them home. Previous photography knowledge is helpful but not required.
Please note: We will be using some hazardous chemicals. Safety protection will be provided.
RELIC will not be responsible for accidents or injuries during the workshop.
